Children's
Ministry
Kidz World is a children's
ministry designed to teach elementary age children the
good news of Jesus Christ through Bible lessons, crafts,
and other activities. It is geared toward children who
are Kindergarten age through the 6th. grade and is
available every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. during bible study
hour.
At 11:00 a.m., we bring children who are Kindergarten
age and up into worship with us. This is a great setting
for you to worship God together as a family.
George
Barna, who has done excellent statistical research in
the area of church life, has shown that children who are
taught to worship with their families throughout their
time living at home are far more likely to continue in
the faith during their adult years. This simply reveals
that no ministry or program can take the place of
parents who love God and who teach their children to
worship God through a living example.
Childcare is provided during both hours for children
infant age through Pre-K.
When you arrive on Sunday morning, simply come to our
children’s table to register your child, and one of our
children's workers will be there to greet you.
Music Ministry: A
Note from our Worship Leaders:
Worship
and praise are often terms we use today when we speak of
music in the church. But in reality music is a way we as
God's
children respond to His mercy and goodness. However, it is
not the only means of praising and ascribing worth to
our heavenly Father.
We have a good model of what true worship is from the
narrative found in John 4:7-26. Notice that in the last few verses of that passage
Jesus tells us that worship is to
be done in Spirit and in truth. If you are like
me, having grown up in a church
where tradition superseded Scripture, you may have been
led to believe that worshipping in Spirit and in truth
was suppose to be a constraining and somber experience.
However, I later discovered the
Old Testament and came to find this idea to be the
opposite of what Scripture actually teaches. I
found the song in Exodus 15 where God delivered Israel through the parted Red Sea.
Next I came to the Psalms and a couple of other places
where David danced before the Lord (2 Samuel 16). I began
to realize that God's people in the Bible rejoiced
before the Lord in times of worship. They never
approached him with a stoic or somber spirit. The
evidence that we are
worshipping in Spirit and in truth is to be found in the
joyful response to the
knowledge of God; His character and His faithfulness.
If you live in the North Jacksonville area,
I'd love to meet you this Sunday. Stop on by and say
hello. As far as our music ministry goes, if you play
drums, bass, keyboards, or percussion, Grant and I would
enjoy getting to hear your sound.
Yours in Christ,
Erick Galenko & Grant Sutton
